Two hunters arrived in Pakistan to hunt Ibex and Markhor

Two hunters from United State of America and Switzerland have arrived in Pakistan through a helicopter for hunting of Markhor and Ibex in the limits of Toshi Village Conservation Committee (VCC), District Chitral.

According to Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Wildlife Muhammad Hussain, the foreigner hunters having proper hunting trophy and shooting license have been searching for suitable target for the last three days.

Christopher from USA has paid an amount of US$92000 to hunt Markhor (Capra Falconeri) – Pakistan’s national animal – and Rs10,000 for shooting license while Switzerland’s Stacky has paid Rs145,000 to hunt an an Ibex and Rs10,000 for the shooting license.

Divisional forest Officer said that hunting trophy license is issued after proper auction at international level by Convention for International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) Switzerland.
